In 1980, Smithwright was founded on the philosophy of "Fostering Human Potential." During our over 25 years of service, the goal of this agency has been to provide a safe, structured living environment for our developmentally disabled clients, while at the same time promoting a positive atmosphere which fosters personal independence, a sense of meaning and purpose and a true understanding of self-worth.

The Staff and Board of Directors are also committed to the valued outcome of community integration. To accomplish this, we seek to provide multiple opportunities for our clients to interact with neighbors and businesses in our community.
